Frye is America's oldest continuously operating shoe company, founded in 1863. Its Harness Boot draws on Civil War cavalry boots — that metal ring wrapped in leather strap isn't a random decorative touch, it's a piece of history carried through more than half a century of production.
This pair has been reinforced by Râu with an added Vibram outsole at the forefoot and heel for extra durability without altering the original silhouette. The leather carries a slight oil finish, so it patinas fast and beautifully. There's minor wear at the shaft edge as shown in photos, but it doesn't affect the structure — just the natural aging of well-worn full-grain leather.
