Few people know that the air-cushioned sole that made Dr. Martens famous wasn't actually made by Dr. Martens itself — for 35 years, NPS (the company behind Solovair) was the one producing "Dr Martens by Solovair" shoes in Northamptonshire. When the licensing contract expired in the 90s, NPS registered the Solovair name and kept producing on the same original machinery.
This tassel loafer carries that same "Sole of Air" technology, just in a different silhouette — dressier than the derby boots the brand is usually known for.
